None Inch Nails

I bought my ticket when the concert was first announced. I’m not a huge fan, more fan-adjacent. I like Trent and Atticus’ soundtrack work quite a bit, but I haven’t listened to Nine Inch Nails, really listened, since Pretty Hate Machine.

Still, I thought it would be fun to go and I also wanted to support bringing bands like this to Hamilton instead of the usual crap we get, especially at the larger venue level.

What I didn’t count on, but really should have, is my strong dislike of leaving my house. Dislike is the wrong word, it’s more of a social anxiety kind of thing. Also dislike. It happens on a regular basis if we’re being honest. I should know better.

Horsegirl is coming to Toronto in June.

My immediate impulse was to buy a ticket. I came this close to doing it. I love Horsegirl. I would be so happy to see them live. I’m sure it would be a great show. Come June 7, I’d have a dozen different excuses not to go

I’d have to go to Toronto and
there would be traffic and
things always start late and
people and
I’d have to drive back late,

but really it would be inertia and my social anxiety.

I hope Nine Inch Nails put on a great show and gave whatever our newly renovated arena is called this week the good, loud, angry christening it needs after all the country shit it gets. And I hope Horsegirl rock out in their indie rock way. I would really like to be there.
